Sitting on the throne is Whitney, the
current Queen of Atlantis. Willard, the chief guard, approaches her and bows.
“My queen,” said Willard, “We have
two prisoners in the dungeon that require your immediate attention.
“Oh who are they?” asked Whitney.
“They are a couple of vampires, my
queen,” said Willard, “I advise you to have them executed immediately.”
“Vampires?” asked Whitney, “how is
that even possible?”
“Does it matter?” asked Willard, “If
word gets out in the human world that two vampires made it here then there will
indeed be an invasion. One we will not be able to hold back.”
“Tell me,” said Whitney, “Who are
these vampires?”
“My queen,” said Willard, “that is
not important. Please, give the order to execute them immediately.”
“Why is it so important?” asked
Whitney, “that they be executed before I even meet them.”
“That would not be wise,” said
Willard.
“I don’t care,” said Whitney, “I
want to know the names of these vampires now!”
“But my queen,” said Willard.
“Now Willard!” ordered Whitney, “or
you will be removed from your post.”
“Okay,” said Willard, “it is your
half-sister Wendy and her mother Wanda.”
“But I thought you said they died,”
said Whitney.
“They did,” said Willard, “They had
to have died in order to become vampires.”
“How did they become vampires?”
asked Whitney.
“They must have been affected by
that accident that occurred in the Human World months ago and was cured by
vampire blood and then was killed so they could become vampires,” said Willard,
“The details we have is sketchy. That is all we really know and it is from
research we did after that message we got from your father before we believed
he died.”
“So my sister is a vampire and yet
she still managed to come home,” said Whitney, “she no doubts expects to claim
her throne.”
“My queen,” said Willard, “the last
request your father made we believe was to not allow her to claim the throne.
This is nothing but mere assumption but we believed they are not just vampires
but one who belong to a queen.”
“A queen, huh?” asked Whitney, “that
means their loyalty is to her not Atlantis.”
“That is the belief of the council
as well,” said Willard.
“Well then bring them here at once,”
ordered Whitney, “I want to see them. To test them to see where their true
loyalty lies.”
“What if they prove they are loyal
to Atlantis?” asked Willard, “Will you give up the throne to your sister?”
“Of course not,” said Whitney, “It’s
like you said, she’s dead and can no longer claim the throne. I however can
still allow them to live in Atlantis providing they serve on my staff. Now go
and get them and bring them to me, now!”
“Yes, my queen,” said Willard, “at
once.”
