Well Here I am with my first reviews of Saved by the Bell episodes. Classic
episodes that I could recount the plot of but not necessary all of the
dialogue. First thing first, when I have seen all of the episodes of Disk two
of my season 1 and 2 box set I will post a review of them. I don't know when
this will be but hopefully it will be soon. That being said here I go with the
first 8 episodes.
Episode 1: Dancing to the Max:
In this episode the kids are enjoying a regular afternoon after school at
their hangout, the Max. They get word that Casey Kasem of "Dance
Party" is coming to the Max to hold a dancing contest. This is a typical
episode and a good one to use to premiere the show in prime-time. Yes, this
show premiered in prime-time and at least two maybe three episodes were shown
first at night and yes I consider this to be the first episode and I will
explain when I get to the one probably considered the first episode. Anyway,
the kids sign-up and pair up for the contest. Zack pairs up with Jessie after
she teaches him how to dance and Slater pairs up with Kelly after Zack tells
her too because he would rather dance with Jessie. Now Zack was supposed to
have a dance off with Slater to see who will be partnered with Kelly but Zack
backed down when he decided to go with Jessie. Oh and Lisa and Screech partner
together when she sprains her ankle and her chosen partner backed out. And they
win too and that's the episode. I love this episode because it was the first.
It introduces the characters, their rivalries and friendships.
Episode 2: The Lisa Card:
This is an okay episode. It was another one that premiered at night
(the one I remember watching). Lisa gets on the honor roll and has the honor of
using her dad's credit card to by something and but instead she buys 10 nice
somethings. This is not something you want to do to earn your daddy's trust
teen age girls. Any way Zack helps her out when he can and her clothes end up
going to a charity drive at school. This brings Lisa to the conclusion to be
honest with her dad and when she does he's not angry with her. He tells her to
continue the job she took until she pays him back and that was it. This was a
great episode.
Episode 3: The Gift:
Screech gets hit by lightning and can now see the future and therefore
hijinks follows. That's this episode in a heartbeat. A teacher who can talk
really fast (played by a guy who can talk really fast) is about to give his
midterm and the kids are worried about the test. Zack sees a way to get an A
and beat Slater in a bet. Good thing Screech can see the future. That is until
he gets Kool-aid or tea or something spilled on him and he sees so many things
and gets confused that he studies everything while everyone else who believed
Zack when he told them what to study got Bs or below. Zack even tried to make
it where those three questions that Screech gave him first would be the
questions until the teach and Mr. Belding figure out that someone made to prank
phone calls and that someone was Zack (because his phone rings). That’s the
episode and it was pretty good.
Episode 4: Fatal Distraction:
When Zack and Screech bug Jessie’s bedroom in order to listen in on a slumber
party, everyone else teach him a lesson about it. I don’t really like this
episode. It wasn’t bad but I’ve seen it so many times that I get tired of it.
There are some episodes that I can watch over and over again and this isn’t one
of them. The description of episodes that are short will be those episodes.
Episode 5: Screech’s Woman:
This is another one I don’t like a whole lot. Screech is disappointment over
Lisa not choosing him so Zack hooks him up with a girl then plays dress-up only
to be dumped because Screech would not choose the girl over Zack.
Episode 6: Aloha Slater:
Slater’s dad gets a transfer to Hawaii. Zack is excited and tries to make
sure Slater leaves by telling the gang he’s sick. Only it back fires and Slater
stays. I like the episode but I don’t really have much to say about it.
Episode 7: The Substitute:
The English teacher hurts herself and the kids get a substitute that the
girls just fall in love with. This leads them to ignore the boys completely
leading them to make everyone think the teacher has a fiancé and it works. I
like this episode but again I’ve seen it way too much to enjoy it every time.
Episode 8: Cream for a Day:
Screech accidentally creates a face cream that works and when Zack gives
Kelly some it was meant to win him a date only he finds out the cream will turn
her face maroon. Oh don’t worry, if all the kids do this they won’t notice and
she’ll still win Homecoming Queen as a high school freshmen. This was a good
episode and one of my favorites.
Well that is the end of my review. Keep an eye
out for part 2 coming real soon.
