Brandon awakens and searches for
clothes and puts them on then exits the place where he is kept. On the way home
he bumps into someone and immediately attacks her leaving her to die on the
sidewalk from a loss of blood.
“I thought vampires aren’t supposed
to start desiring to feed until they have been awakened for 12 hours,” he said
quietly, “I guess that is only true if you wake up during daylight hours.”
Having been asleep for hours,
Michelle suddenly shoots up and goes directly into a trance.
“My queen,” he said as he bows
before her.
“Thank-you,” said the Queen, “you
are the last piece of the puzzle. With you in my clan I can now officially
become a Vampire Queen. My human side however does not want to give up control
and will try something foolish to stop me but what she doesn’t know is that all
it will do is give me added strength to defeat her and take over. Please, lay
low until you hear the gathering call and then come and join your fellow
vampires in my clan as I begin my reign as your queen.”
“Yes, my queen,” he said.
Michelle comes out of her trance and
goes back to sleep only to seconds later wake up wondering what just happen.
“What just happen?” she whispered.
“What do you think happen?” asked a
voice.
“Another vampire has awaken, right?”
asked Michelle.
“That’s right,” said the voice, “Try
all you want to stop your true destiny from coming to past but it is
inevitable. You will become Queen of the Vampires.”
“No,” said Michelle, “there is a way
to weaken you so I can stay human.”
“Oh really?” asked the voice.
“Yes,” said Michelle, “another queen
is going to assist me in defeating you.”
“Do you really think she wants you
to defeat me?” asked the voice, “so you can continue to slay vampires knowing
that her clan would be included which will weaken her?”
“I didn’t think of that,” said
Michelle, “but she didn’t ask me to leave her clan alone.”
“And she is not going too,” said the
voice, “Michelle, Victoria wants you dead so she can be the true queen in this
city. She doesn’t want you out slaying her people. She embraced what she was as
soon as she had learned the truth. And you must do the same.”
“No,” said Michelle, “I’m going to
end this conversation by declaring I will remain human and a slayer.”
“Of course you will be human,” said
the voice, “All vampire queens are humans. But a slayer is not your true
destiny. A Vampire Queen is what you are and what you will be. Believe it and
embrace it before it is too late.”
