This week I am going to briefly discussed a few more shows that had Christian References in them during their runs. I am going to discuss Major Dad, Boy Meets World (which gets a sequel next winter/spring with Girl Meets World), and Step by Step. In two weeks, when I do Part 7 of this series, it will solely focus on one show: Full House and it will be the final installment of that series. And as a reminder next week will be my tribute to the 20th Anniversary of the Power Rangers Franchise.
Okay, in Major Dad, the father figure was from my home state of Mississippi (and so is the guy who played him.) There were a few references in this show. The first was when Polly, (the mom) had to reveal her middle name and it was Esther. The major is okay with this because it was "in the Bible" but when you said her full name he chuckled after promising not too. The other one I think was a mention of growing up and going to Church but I don't really remember exactly what it was.
Now for Boy Meets World. I know of only two specific examples in this show. One was when Shawn joins a cult and a question of whether or not he believed in God was raised. The second was when Eric had a genuine (in my opinion) talk with God asking him some good questions including why does he always go to God when he has a problem. He comes to the wrong conclusion but he still poised the question.
Finally, Step by Step, in one episode the mom's oldest daughter is learning how to drive and yells at a minister/priest (I don't remember which) and in another episode the whole family goes to Church when some of them want to stay home and watch the Packers game.
