The girls arrive at the mansion.
“Mom? Dad?” she asked, “I’m home.”
“Did you have a good day at school
dear?” asked Hera.
“Yeah,” said Athena, “except it was
really weird, especially whenever I was around this really weird girl named
Michelle Van Helsing.”
“Did you say Van Helsing?” asked
Zeus.
“Yeah, why dad?” asked Athena.
“The original Van Helsing was a
famous vampire slayer whose mission was to destroy all vampires,” said Zeus,
“But one of his nemeses, an ex-fiancé, made a daring prophecy before decaying
down to dust at the rising of the sun after he had driven a stake into her
heart. She said, ‘one of your descendants will become a queen herself.”
“And you think Michelle is that
descendant?” asked Athena.
“Well her parents were vampires,”
said Hera, “by the way who brought you home.”
“Aunt Artemis brought me home,” said
Athena, “I had to stay afterschool for detention. And Aphrodite offered to
bring me home.”
“Oh really,” said Zeus.
“Why did you have to stay
after school for detention?” asked Hera.
“Well,” said Athena, “It was
Michelle Van Helsing again. She got me in trouble during gym class that landed
me in detention although I never made it inside the room.”
“Wait you were given detention but
you never went into the room?” asked Zeus.
“Well,” said Athena, “I can’t
explain it but I think Michelle was controlling me with mere thought.”
“Okay,” said Hera, “Zeus, this is
strange. How in the world could she have this must control over our daughter
the most powerful seventh grader at that school?”
“I can only come to one conclusion,”
said Zeus, “Queen’s blood. Somehow it got into your bloodstream and that is how
she is controlling her.”
“Wait,” said Athena, “I have that
freak’s blood in my body. How? When?”
“The tent collapse,” said Hera,
“Remember when we were having that chant and it collapsed on top of us.”
“Yeah,” said Athena, “I remember
being really injured from that whole ordeal. It was scary. But I felt fine
after they gave me that blood at the clinic.”
“That must have been it,” said Hera,
“They put vampire blood in you that night.”
“Not just vampire blood but vampire
queen blood,” corrected Zeus.
“Right,” said Hera.
“And what is the difference between
the two?” asked Athena.
“Vampire blood,” said Hera, “will
only stay in the human blood stream for 24 hours. Vampire Queen Blood will stay
for eternity.”
“Don’t humans who have vampire blood
in them when they die become vampires?” asked Athena with a gulp.”
“Yes,” said Zeus, “they do.”
“And there isn’t a way to prevent
that?” asked Athena.
“There is one way,” said Hera, “If a
queen dies, all humans with her blood in them become normal again.”
“Wait,” said Athena, “you’re saying
that if Michelle dies then I am free of her control?”
“That’s right,” said Hera, “now
don’t go trying to plot her death because the closer you are to her to more
control she has over you.”
“No!” shouted Athena.

Olym
Mansion…
“Athena?” asked Hera, “are you all
right?”
“Mom,” said Athena, “I know you and
dad are going to say to stay away from her so she can’t have any control over
me but it’s not going to be possible. We have gym class together and she is
even in cheerleading tryouts this week.”
“Oh dear,” said Hera.
“I guess you can’t call me in sick
for the rest of the week can you?” asked Athena.
“I’m afraid that would be too
suspicious even for us,” said Hera.
“Then what do I do to fight off her
control?” asked Athena.
