Bite Me v.7 Chapter 8 Part 2 of 4

The door to a cell opens and the Queen enters. A woman lying on a bed sits up and looks at the queen.

“24 hours passed days ago,” said the woman, “I no longer have vampire blood in my system so I have converted being a Atlantisian again. That means I’m no longer human so don’t think compulsion will work on me.”

“Oh, Wanda,” said the queen, “I know it has passed. I allowed it to do so in order for me to make you an offer you won’t refuse.”

“I don’t negotiate with vampires,” said Wanda.

Victoria snaps her fingers and two vampire guards bring in Wanda’s daughter Wendy into the cell. They had her in a vulnerable position.

“Please don’t kill her or she’ll become a vampire and never be able to return to Atlantis,” said Wanda.

“Okay,” said Victoria, “hear my offer or the girl dies.”

“No,” said Wanda, “I can’t do it. Agreeing to any offer will betray my home.”

“Mom,” said Wendy, “you have already betrayed Atlantis and me by allowing them to give me vampire queen blood. Now I can never return and rule my land so please do as she says because I do not want to become a vampire.”

“Alright,” said Wanda, “what’s the offer?”

“Drink my blood and then agree to die,” said Victoria, “So you may join my clan of  vampires permanently.”

“What?” asked Wanda, “I can’t do that because then I won’t ever be able to return to Atlantis.”

“Then the girl dies and joins my clan,” said Victoria, “What will it be? You or her?”

Wanda falls down on her knees and begins to cry.

“Okay,” she said, “I’ll do it. I’ll agree to drink your blood and die. Just please grant my daughter a way back to Atlantis so she can become their princess and heir.”

She bites her wrist and puts it to Wanda who then drinks it until her eyes briefly turn black to signify she was now under Victoria’s control.

After she was done Wendy was released from the clutches of the guards and she runs up to her mother and they embrace and while doing so Wendy whispers into Wanda’s ear, “if there was a way for us to return to Atlantis, the first thing I will do after receiving my crown is have you executed for your betrayal.”

After their embrace, Wanda asks the queen, “I’ve done what you wanted now can you please grant my daughter access back to Atlantis?”

“Mom,” said Wendy, “I can’t go back. Not with queen’s blood in me. There is now way around that.”

“Yes, there is. I was told you had a magical source that could grant her away back into Atlantis even with vampire queen’s blood in her,” said Wanda, “Is this not true?”

“Yes, it is,” said Victoria, “And it will happen for both of you after you become vampires.”

She goes to exit the cave and says to the guards, “Kill them both, then in 12 hours when they are awaken bring them to me so I may make their transformation complete.”

She exits the cave and the two guards killed the Atlantisian princess and her mother.

            Wendy began to stir.

“Mom?” she asked, “What just happen?”

“Well,” said Wanda who had just awaken seconds prior to Wendy, “We died and are now vampires.”

“NO!” cried Wendy, “now I’ll never be able to return to Atlantis and lead my people.”

“Oh child,” said a voice, “I promise you would be able to return and I will keep that promise.”

“Victoria, queen of the vampires,” said Wendy, “Boy, do I wish I had a stake in my hand right about now so I can drive it into your heart.”

“That would not be wise,” said the queen, “because it is my blood that made you a vampire and what happens to me happens to you.”

“I’ve done my homework on vampires,” said Wendy and how they’ve been operating for centuries and is it not true that a vampire has to feed in order to complete the transformation?”

“Yes,” said Victoria, “that is indeed true and they have a very limited window to do so.”
            “How limited?” asked Wanda.

“12 hours,” said the queen, “oh but don’t worry. The cravings don’t begin until 12 hours after you awaken as a vampire meaning the window is 24 hours.”

“But how is it possible for me to return to Atlantis?” asked Wendy, “I will not go into my mermaid form if enter water thus I would not be able to swim deep enough to enter Atlantis.”

“Not true,” said the queen holding up a genie bottle.

            “What’s that?” asked Wendy.

            “It’s a genie’s bottle,” said the queen.

“A genie?” asked Wendy, “oh you mean a ‘transformed witch’”

“Something like that,” said the queen, “All I have to do is to wish for you to have your mermaid form back and you will. She can grant any wish  I want.”

“But I died,” said Wendy, “Genies can’t bring the dead back to life.”

“No,” said queen, “they can’t but you are a vampire and therefore you are what has been commonly called ‘the living dead’ and therefore your mermaid form can be returned to you if you want to return to Atlantis and its throne that is.”

“Well,” said Wendy, “I do want to go through the coordination ceremony and officially become the princess. But it is forbidden and impossible for vampires to enter Atlantis. What would my people think if they found out I’m a vampire. It would cause more chaos than not returning at all.”

“Well you don’t have to return to Atlantis but I thought this is what you wanted,” said the queen, “and your mother willingly gave up her life just so you would be able to return and now you are saying you don’t want to?”

“Well  my mom is a traitor and should be executed for doing this,” said Wendy.

“Well if you don’t agree to do this,” said Wanda, “I can’t get the punishment I deserve.”

“Are you saying you want to be executed?” asked Wendy, “but you’re already dead.”

“That’s true but you can still kill a vampire,” said Wanda.

“Well mom,” said Wendy, “if you are that willing to receive your rightful punishment for doing this to me then I will agree to this.”

“Very well,” said Victoria removing the cork from the genie bottle.
A puff of pink smoke comes out and resumes the form of Jessica, a genie under the control of Victoria, the vampire queen.

“Master,” she said, “how may I help you?”

“Grant these two ‘almost vampires’ Atlantisian forms,” commanded Victoria.

“Did you say ‘almost vampires’?” asked Jessica.

“Yes, I did,” said Victoria, “is there a problem?”

“My master,” said Jessica, “by ‘almost’ I assume you mean they haven’t fed yet which means they have died which means they are still technically dead. My powers will not work on the dead.”

“But they are ‘the living dead’,” said Victoria, “doesn’t that count as some kind of loophole for that ‘can’t work on the dead rule.”

“Master,” said Jessica, “may we speak through our minds for a moment.”

            Go right ahead,” thought Victoria.

“I can grant them Atlantisian forms but it will only be temporary,” thought Jessica, “they will need to return here once a week and have it readministered in order to continue to survive in Atlantis.”

            Is that all?” asked Victoria.

They have to be human in order for it to work permanently but considering they have your blood in them and you’re human,” thought Jessica.

If you gave me the form they would automatically have it,” thought Victoria who immediately smiled, “That is a wonderful idea and it is one I might actually implement later but go ahead and cast the spell. However tell them the part about returning here for it every week. I want to see their reaction to this.”

As you wish master,” she thought as she waved her hand and cast the spell.

Instantly, Wendy and her mother felt something hit them.

“Wow,” said Wendy, “I have my connection back to my homeland again.”

“Not so fast,” said Jessica, “You have an Atlantisian form but a connection to them you do not have because you see, the spell only lasts for one week. Return here next Tuesday around 4 in the morning and I will recast the spell.”

“Do you understand what my genie is telling you?” asked Victoria.

“Yeah,” said Wendy, “she is telling us that because my mom agreed for us to die with queen’s blood in us that we can’t ever return to Atlantis on a permanent basis. Thank-you Mom!”

“Well,”  said Wanda, “since we can now go to Atlantis and only have a week to stay there. Don’t you think we should go now, sweetie?”

“Uh,” said Wendy, “there is just one problem with that. We’re still vampires, which means we’ll need to feed on blood and we can’t do that with Atlantisian blood because of the vervain so if we go to Atlantis we’ll die of blood starvation within the next 24 hours!”

“Man,” said Victoria, “calm down. You are a little bit too upset about this.”

In an instant Wendy became very calm and relax due to her loyalty to Queen Victoria forcing her to obey her every command and request which gave Victoria an idea.

“Why not wait until after you feed before you return to Atlantis that way you will be fully converted and will have an entire week ahead of you from the moment you do enter Atlantis,” she said.

“I like that idea,” said Wendy in a calm manner which confused her, “but why am I suddenly calm about this when I should be upset.”

“You calmed down at the queen’s request,” said Jessica, “it’s her blood that flows in you. It makes you loyal to her and with that loyalty comes instant obedience.”

“I see,” said Wendy, “Well, one thing is for sure whether it is right now or 12 hours from now, when we return to Atlantis; you, mother, will no longer be human, vampire, or mermaid.”

“I understand my child,” said Wanda.

“I don’t think so,” said Victoria, “You can’t have your mother executed.”

            “Why not?” asked Wendy.

“Because if you stake her you will be hurting me,” said Victoria, “weakening me physically as well as emotionally. Because my blood in you connects us which in a way make us family and if you die I will feel your pain here in my heart as well as the power that your existence brings me being stripped away with your deaths. So do not execute your mother when you return to Atlantis.”

“Yes, my queen,” said Wendy, “I will do as you say, always.”

“Thank-you my queen,” said Wanda, “for sparing my life.”
“Oh,” said Victoria, “I did not do this for you. I did this for me. You being in my clan makes me very powerful and power is what I am after most of all.”

“My queen,” said Wendy, “one question pops into my mind about us returning to Atlantis as vampires. Will that not open the doors for other vampires to return?”

“No, the two of you will be the only vampires permitted to return to Atlantis,” said Victoria, who then thought to herself, “for now.”

“Well then,” said Wanda, “I guess I better rest until my cravings for blood begin. But I do have one question. I was told I would die if I had tried to contact Atlantis before becoming a vampire within the confines of this cell. How come she was able to cast her spell here?”

“That is because I was the one that placed such curse on these cells,” said the genie, “using my powers within these cells was the loophole I wanted placed within the rules of the curse in case it was necessary to do so as it was today.”

“If that is all,” said Victoria, “Genie, return to the bottle.”

In an instant Jessica became a puff of pink smoke and returned to the bottle. Victoria then placed the cork back in the top and looked at Wendy and Wanda.

“Do not ever touch this bottle and released the genie from within,” she commanded with her eyes turning black.

“Yes, my queen,” said the two former mermaids turned vampires.

“Wendy,” said Victoria, “return to your cell.”

“Yes, my queen,” said Wendy who exits Wanda’s cell.

Victoria exits after her closing and locking the door behind her.
