Jessica becomes a puff of smoke and
heads for the bottle with cap following her just as it enters the portal. As
soon as the portal closes the sphere surrounding Martha busted open and she was
free to use her dust again.
“I guess you’re right Queen
Victoria,” she said, “I was really going to double cross you.”
She creates a portal and exits the
cave leaving Queen Victoria very puzzled.
Chapter Nine:
The Fairy Realm…[U2]
“Quickly, contact the queen at once
and tell them we have possession of the genie bottle,” said Martha.
Jessica had made it inside the
bottle safely with the cap on before it went through the portal. But despite
being away from the Vampire Queen she still felt loyalty to her because the
queen was still the last one to touch the bottle.
“What’s
going on, I wonder? Am I about to have a new master? Will finally be free from
this curse? Who exactly took my bottle and why and will they make me do good
things or evil things?” she asked herself.
The Fairy Realm…[U4]
Martha was sitting on the throne
looking at the bottle which had landed safely on a nearby table.
“It’s
only a matter of time until you make me the queen of the fairies,” she
thought to herself, “Only a matter of
time.”
It is 5:00 in the morning, and Mary
is fixing breakfast. She is frying bacon when she felt the call.
“I better answer this,” she says and
she touches the gem in her crown which instantly changes her into her fairy
queen form and she instantly answers the call.
“Yes,” she says.
“My queen,” said a fairy, “this is
Mia. Martha has successfully retrieved the genie bottle. She is awaiting
further instructions from you.”
“Okay,” said Mary, “tell her to wait
until I can get back there. Once Michelle is off to school, I will come to the
fairy realm and see about our new friend.”
“Yes, my queen,” said Mia, “I will
tell her right away.”
Their communication link was broken
and Mary resumes her human form and continues to cook breakfast.
The Fairy Realm…[U6]
Mia flies over to Martha who is
still sitting on Mary’s throne.
“Martha, the queen says to wait
until she gets here to deal with the genie in the bottle,” said Mia.
“Wait?” asked Martha, “she wants me
to wait? Does she not trust me or something?”
“I think she wants to be the one to
release the genie from the bottle’s curse,” said Mia.
“Release her?” asked Martha, “why
would I want that to happen when I need the genie to make me the queen of the fairies?”
She picks up the bottle.
Jessica sat on her bed waiting for
something to happen. For anything to happen really, she was trapped in a bottle
and until someone different touches it she is loyal to the wishes and desires
of the Vampire Queen. She hears some of the conversation between Mia and Martha
and wonders if her wish of freedom will indeed come true.
“Please let it be true,” she
silently said, “please let it be true.”
But the instant Martha’s hand
touched the bottle, which was condensed down to fairy size as was Jessica after
she entered the bottle, she felt a strange sensation go through her body.
“Someone new has touched the bottle
and now I have a chance to become free,” she said with joy.
The Fairy realm…[U8]
Martha releases the bottle’s top and
Jessica comes out as a genie.
“I am the genie of the bottle,” said
Jessica, “you are my master now and any wish you desire I shall grant you with
the exception of making someone die.”
“Well genie,” said Martha, “I bet
you think now that you are among fairies that your inner wish of being free
from the bottle will be granted to you.”
“I would like that very much,” said
Jessica.
“Well,” said Martha, “I’m sorry but
I can’t do it. At least not yet, there are some other things I need done
first.”
“She’s
disobeyed the queen,” thought Mia who was watching all of this, “I must inform her at once.”
Mia begins to fly away when Martha
tells her to stop.
“Genie,” said Martha.
“Please call me Jessica,” she asked.
“Jessica,” commanded Martha, “Can
you strip fairies of their powers?”
“Yes, I can,” said Jessica.
“Then that is what I want you to
do,” said Martha, “Strip Mia of her powers.”
“What?” asked Mia, “but that would
make me human?”
“That’s right,” said Martha, “my
sister was very wise to make a ruling prohibiting fairies from using magic on
each other but the rule says nothing about using genie magic and without your
magic then I’ll be able to use mine on you. Now Jessica, do as I command.”
“At once, master,” said Jessica who
pointed her hand at Mia and blinked.
In an instant Mia who was floating
in the air began to fall and as she fell her small body began to return to that
of a human.
“Hee, hee,” said Martha, “now the
real fun can begin.”
She flies to the ground and walks
over to Mia’s weakened human body.
“Now,” she said, “Mia, get up.”
She sprinkles fairy dust on the girl
which makes her get up without resistance. Martha then opens a portal and
commands Mia to pass through.
“No,” begged Mia, “If I leave
without my fairy form, I’ll be human forever.”
“Yes,” said Martha, “You will and by
the end of tonight you will be dead because I’m sending you to that vampire
cave I left just minutes ago.”
“No!” she cried, “anything but
that.”
“Mia,” said Martha, “I command you
to pass through that portal.”
