Bite Me v.7 Chapter 7 part 3 of 4

Both girls began to head to the door.

“Where are you going?” asked the Principal.

            “Home,” said Aphrodite.

“Athena?” asked the secretary, “don’t you have detention until 4.”

“So,” said Athena, “I’m going home anyway. Besides my mom is here to pick us up. Do you really want to explain to her why I can’t go home?”

“Uh,” said the Principal, “you may go home.”

            They leave.

“Why did you do that?” asked the secretary.

“Her mom is Hera Olym,” said the Principal, “the wife of one of the most powerful men in the city. And she is equally as powerful so if they want to go home I’m letting them go home. And tell Michelle she is excused from detention as well.”

            “Yes mam,” said the secretary.

The Principal returns to her office. The secretary goes into the detention room.

            The secretary walks in.

“Michelle Van Helsing,” said the secretary, “you are free to go home.”

“Where’s Athena?” asked Michelle, “she never showed up.”

“She got in a fight with her sister and then both of them left,” said secretary, “so you are free to go too just to be fair.”

“Okay,” said Michelle, who then thought to herself, “It worked.”

Michelle gathers her books and heads for the door.

“Oh Michelle,” said the secretary, “Let me give you a piece of advice. Don’t be messing with the Olym family. They are very powerful and no one can seem to bring them down a notch.”

They’re not as powerful as you think secretary,” thought Michelle, “Not as powerful as you think.”

She gathers her books and leaves the room and the building. She then pulls out her cell phone and calls her mom to come and get her because it was already too late to catch the bus.

“My queen,” said a fairy, who approaches the throne.

“Yes, do you have a report?” asked the queen.

“Yes, I do,” said the fairy.

“Does it have to do with my daugh-err-granddaughter?” asked the queen.

“Yes, mam,” said the fairy, “you asked me and my secretary to watch over her at school and to be mindful of signs of her becoming a vampire queen.”

“And what do you have to report?” asked the queen.

“It’s not good,” said the fairy, “She seems to be able to control the actions of one of the students at my school.”

“That’s not good,” said the queen.

“No, mam,” said fairy, “and there is one reason other than Michelle becoming a vampire queen that this isn’t a good thing.”

“What is that?” asked the queen.

“The girl’s last name is Olym,” said the fairy, “the secretary had to use her magic to break up a fight between these two girls because it was Michelle’s manipulations that caused them to do this to begin with.”

“Olym,” said the queen, “why does that sound familiar?”

“Olym is short for Olympus as in Mount Olympus,” said the fairy, “This powerful family believes they are the reincarnation of the gods of Mount Olympus. The girl’s name is Athena.”

“Are they the reincarnation of the gods?” asked the queen.

“I don’t know,” said the fairy, “but they are powerful and if your daughter has control over these two girls then if she does become queen of the vampires controlling this city would not be a problem at all.”

“I see,” said the queen, “if she is controlling them then that can only mean one thing. Her blood flows in them and if they were to die they would immediately become vampires thus making her transformation to queen complete.”

“I believe,” said the fairy, “that she may already be a queen, just not fully aware of it.”

“Have people died with her blood in them yet?” asked the queen.

“Yes,” said the fairy, “Fairies have reported back to me that since the night of that tent collapse that two people have died after they received a blood transfusion.

“Were any fairies hurt in that ordeal?” asked the queen.

“I believe one was,” said the fairy, “but I am not absolute certain about that.”

“If a fairy was there,” said the queen, “how come she wasn’t in her invisible fairy form?”

“I don’t know,” said the fairy, “this tent meeting that was held was very weird. All the 500 people in attendance were doing chants of some kind.”

            “Witches?” asked the queen.

“My queen,” said the fairy, “I find it hard to believe that there are 500 witches in this city alone. That would mean 500 former fairies.”

“True but they could have been witches long before I became the fairy queen,”
she said, “so I may not of known there were that many because I didn’t sense when they made the switch.”

“But what about the warlocks that would have appeared and made them all genies if they were witches?” asked the fairy, “Not to mention that two have died and become vampires already which would not be possible if they were witches.”

“You said that the girl my daughter manipulated is named Athena?” asked the queen.

“That’s right,” said the fairy, “Athena Olym.”

“And all of the members of that family are named after the ancient Greek gods?” asked the fairy queen.

“Yes,” said the fairy, “that’s right.”

“Do they believe themselves to be the ancient Greek gods?” asked the fairy queen.

“I think they do,” said the fairy.

“Are they as wealthy as they are influential?” asked the queen.

“Yes, they are,” said the fairy, “and I think I know what you are getting at. They were the financial backers of that tent meeting and I bet even the ones leading in the chants.”

“I see,” said the queen, “that meeting must have been for a local cult that worships those guys.”

“And this family, my queen,” said the fairy, “is taking advantage of them by claiming to be these gods.”

“Just which gods are they claiming to be?” asked the fairy.

“There is Athena, my student,” said the fairy, “She has an older cousin named Aphrodite. Aphrodite has an older brother named Ares. Their parents are Apollo and Artemis. Artemis has a brother named Zeus and his wife’s name is Hera.”

“Whoa, whoa, wait a minute,” said the queen, “those relationships are all wrong.”

“Well I didn’t say they were the gods just that they claimed to be them,” said the fairy, “their relationships to each other aren’t the same as in the myths but they’re still screwy and I think a close knit family.”

“Who are Athena’s parents?” asked the queen.

“Oh I hadn’t given their names yet have I?” asked the fairy.

            The queen nods her heads.

“Well they’re Zeus and Hera,” said the fairy, “It’s what makes Aphrodite and Athena cousins. And to round out the group, Zeus and Apollo have two more brothers: Poseidon and Hades.”

“Are they married?” asked the queen.

“Poseidon is married to Hestia and they have a little boy named Hermes,” said the fairy,

“And Hades is married to Demeter and they have a son named Dionysus, a son named Hephaestus.”

“How old are the kids?” asked the queen.

“Hermes is 10; Dionysus is 12 and Hephaestus is 16; and finally Ares is around 20 I think,” said the fairy, “He has both finished high school anyway.”

            “Wow,” said the queen.
            “I know,” said the fairy.
“I believe we have talked enough about the Olyms,” said the queen, “let’s now talk about what you came here to tell me.”

“Right,” said the fairy, “this morning Athena was sent to me for making Michelle late for class. And she admits it right then and there without hesitation. Since it was a confrontation with your daughter I was suspicious because I knew Michelle could become queen of the vampires one day so I checked their schedules for a class they had together and it was 6th period gym and I went to the school pool because I knew this was swimming week and I watched as Athena jumped into the pool while wearing her cheerleading outfit and swam the entire length of the pool twice. She then made Athena cluck like a chicken among other things. The thing is neither Athena nor Michelle knows why this is happening.”

“I’ll asked Michelle about that when she gets home,” said the queen.

“Well it won’t be until after four because both she and Athena have detention today,” said the fairy.

“Is that all you have to report?” asked the queen.

“Yes, it is,” said the fairy.

“Then you are dismiss,” said the queen.

“Thank-you my queen,” said the fairy who then summons a portal and passes through.
