First Period…[U1]
Michelle walks up to the door and
knocks. It opens.
“Yes?” asked the woman who answered.
“I’m sorry I’m late but I’m in this
class,” said Michelle, “is too late to come in?”
“Not at all,” said the woman,
“Class, we have a late comer. What is your name?”
“Michelle Van Helsing,” she
answered.
“Any relation to the famous vampire
slayer?” asked the woman.
“Yeah,” said Michelle, “I’m a direct
descendent of his.”
“How many generations?” asked the
woman.
“I don’t know,” said Michelle, “What
do you mean by how many generations?”
“Well the men in that family lived
long lives due to the special powers the fairy queen at the time gave them,”
said the woman.
“Really?” asked Michelle, “How
long?”
“I’d say they lived to about 150
years old before they died,” said the woman.
“What exactly did they die from if
not from old age?” asked Michelle.
“History states that the men usually
died in battle against evil,” said the woman.
“And the women?” asked Michelle.
“They usually were turned into
something and may even still be alive today,” said the woman.
“Wait,” said Michelle, “you mean I
could have living ancestors?”
“Yeah,” said the woman, “It’s
possible.”
“Did they help their husbands fight
vampires?” asked Michelle.
“As a matter of fact they did,” said
the woman, “And that in a jest is what this class is all about. This is Family
History.”
Michelle looks at her schedule and
it does say Family History for 1st Period.
“Oh,” said Michelle, “Here, it’s an
excuse from the secretary for me being late. We were talking for quite a bit
after the tardy bell rang.”
“Okay,” said the woman, “Please have
a seat and I will continue my lecture on Ancient History. By the way, my name
is Ms. Amber.”
“It’s nice to meet you Ms. Amber,”
said Michelle.
The Bell rings ending 1st
Period.
“Please read chapters 1 and 2 for
tomorrow, class,” said Ms. Amber.
When the other students had left Michelle goes back to the
Teacher’s desk.
“Why do I have a feeling that you
and I are related somehow?” asked Michelle.
“Maybe that’s because we are,” said
Ms. Amber.
“Are you one of my ancient
ancestors?” asked Michelle.
“Actually, yes I am,” said Ms.
Amber, “But I’m not as ancient as you may think. I’m only about 300 yrs. old.”
“And exactly how are you able to look
so young when you are that old?” asked Michelle.
“Magic,” said Ms. Amber.
“So you are a witch,” said Michelle.
“No,” said Ms. Amber, “I’m not a
witch. I’m actually a dragon.”
“You mean?” asked Michelle.
“That’s right,” said Ms. Amber, “I
can turn into a long giant scaly reptile that can breathe fire.”
“And how far back in my family tree
are you related to me?” asked Michelle
“You are going to have to figure
that out yourself,” said Ms. Amber.
“Were there any daughters born into
this family other than my mom?” asked Michelle.
“Oh yeah,” said Ms. Amber, “There
are several daughters that were born into the family.”
“Are you one of them?” asked
Michelle.
“Like I said,” repeated Ms. Amber,
“you have to figure that out yourself.”
“Well I need to go to my next
class,” said Michelle, “before the tardy bell rings. I don’t want to be late
two periods in a roll.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” said Ms.
Amber, “try to be on time.”
“I will,” said Michelle, who exits
the classroom.
“Be
careful out there my beautiful granddaughter,” thought Ms. Amber.
2nd
Period…[U2]
“Welcome to 8th Grade
Algebra I,” said the man sitting behind the big desk, “Look underneath your
desks to grab your books and turn to page 12. By the way, my name is Mr.
McDaniels.”
While Mr. McDaniels taught from the
book, Michelle realized she did not have a text book for her first class.
“I’ve
got to remember to stop by there and pick one up,” thought Michelle.
“Michelle Van Helsing,” said the
teacher, “what is the answer to number 5?”
“Uh” she said looking down at her
textbook, “the answer is 5.”
“That is correct,” said the teacher.
The school bell rings ending the
class and Michelle exits the classroom and hurryingly heads back downstairs to
Ms. Amber’s room to pick up a textbook for that class.
“Thank-you,” said Michelle after
receiving the book.
She leaves afterwards and heads for
her 3rd period class.
3rd
period…[U4]
“You
know,” said a voice, “We never did
finished our conversation.”
“Uh,
I did have to get to class,” thought Michelle, “Sorry about that.”
“Well,
it’s okay, really,” said the voice, “But
I do think we need to meet again and soon.”
“Name
the time and place and I will be there,” said Michelle.
“How
about 4:00 at the park next door to the blood-donor clinic?” asked the
voice.
“That
sounds fine with me, Victoria,” said Michelle.
“Excuse me young lady,” said the
science teacher, “are you paying attention?”
“Yes, sir,” said Michelle, “I’m
paying attention.”
“Then tell me how often are we going
to have a test in this class?” asked the teacher.
Michelle is silent for a moment and
concentrating really hard.
“I’m waiting,” said the teacher.
“My
queen,” said a voice, “we will have a
test every three weeks.”
“Every three weeks,” said Michelle.
“Okay,” said the teacher, “And what
will we be doing to prepare for each test during each three week span.”
“Uh,” said Michelle.
“The
first week is lectures; the second week is experiments; and the third week is
review,” said the same voice.
“The first week is lectures; the
second week is experiments; and the third week is review,” repeated Michelle.
“Okay,” said the teacher, “who is
telling her all of this because there is no other way for her to know unless she
was told. Are you wearing some kind of ear device Michelle?”
“No, sir,” said Michelle.
“Then how are you able to answer my
question when you were clearly not paying attention,” said the teacher.
“But I was paying attention,” said
Michelle.
