Brandon was up to the plate. The
score was 15-14 in favor of his team. The bases were loaded and there were two
outs.
“Okay,” said the coach, “there is 5
minutes left in class and everyone needs to change clothes before their next
one. So this is the last bat. Out or run, it does not matter. It will be over
after this.”
Michelle was pitching and she rolled
a fast one toward Brandon. He tries to meet it half way and manages to kick it
but it is caught. He is out and the game was over. But his team did win by one
run. They briefly celebrated while Michelle stood there watching them and
smiled. Then she just laughed.
“What’s so funny?” asked Brandon.
“Do you remember how many runs you
said your team would win by?” asked Michelle.
“No,” said Brandon, “Why does that
even matter? We won. You lost.”
“You won by only one run but you
said you would win by 5 guarantee,” said Michelle.
“So,” said Brandon, “We won.”
“But by only 1 run so therefore you
lost the bet,” said Michelle, “and that means…”
“I die?” asked Brandon.
“Exactly,” said Michelle, “And you
know what? I will let you decide on how you die.”
“Okay,” said Brandon, “but what
makes you think that I will actually kill myself.”
“Because,” said Michelle, “I command
you to do so.”
Brandon blinks his eyes then says,
“okay.”
“Kids,” said the coach, who was
still not paying attention to what was going on, “go change back into normal
clothes before the bell rings to end class. And go now!”
The students begin to head into the
dressing rooms. When Michelle enters the girls, she glances into the mirror and
sees the reflection of her queen persona. This concerns her and she begins to
blink her eyes and looks again and sees her own reflection. After all of this
she changes her clothes again using witchcraft.
“Whatever
you are up too,” she thought, “it’s
not going to work if the purpose is to make me embrace what you are!”
She exits the dressing room then the
gym. She heads to her English class.
Fifth Period…[U2]
After the tardy bell rings the
teacher introduces herself.
“Hello,” said the teacher, “my name
is Miss Eleanor. And this is 8th Grade English.”
Sixth Period…[U3]
When Michelle enters a classroom for
her U.S. History class, she has yet to realize that that the teacher is Ms.
Amber.
“I didn’t know I was going to have
you again,” said Michelle who then takes her seat.
“It’s on your schedule right?” asked
Ms. Amber.
“I don’t know,” said Michelle, “I’ll
have to check.”
She pulls out of her pocket, her
class schedule and indeed it was there.
“Hmm,” said Michelle, “cool.”
Seventh Period…[U4]
It’s now time for study hall. When
Michelle arrives at the classroom assigned for her study hall, she learns that
it is actually going to be in the library. So she heads there and finds a seat
and begins to work on her homework assignments.
“Mam,” said a voice.
“Yes,” said Michelle.
“Did you make a bet with someone
earlier in the day that would him his life if he lost?” asked the voice.
“Uh,” said Michelle, “I don’t
remember such a thing. What was the bet for?”
“A kickball game,” said the voice.
“Who are you?” asks Michelle turning
around to face the one with the voice only to see it was a police officer.
“I’m Officer Chet,” said the cop, “I
need you to come with me to headquarters for questioning.”
“About what?” asked Michelle.
“About that bet you made with a boy
named Brandon,” said the cop.
“But I don’t remember making such a
bet,” said Michelle, “All I remember was being picked to be captain and him not
liking completing against a girl. After that it is a blank. I don’t even know
who won.”
“We
did,” said a voice, “In the end
victory was ours!”
“Oh
no!” thought Michelle, “You took over
during gym class didn’t you. That’s why I don’t remember anything.”
“You
catching on,” said the voice, “Which
each vampire that awakens in my clan the more powerful I become. It is now time
for you to choose rather to embrace your destiny or to fight until you are no
more, Slayer!”
“How
many times do I have to tell you?” she asks, “I’m not going to embrace being the queen of the vampires. I’m a slayer and
I vow all vampires will be slayed before I graduate High School.”
“Good
luck with that,” said the voice, “You
will embrace what you truly are before this school year ends. Guarantee!”
“Mam,” said the officer, “are you
okay?”
“Not really,” said Michelle, “how
long will this take? I have a meeting with a friend around 4:00.”
“It won’t take long,” said the
officer, “are you going to go with us peacefully or are we going to have to
arrest you.”
“Arrest me on what charges?” asked
Michelle.
“Conspiracy to commit murder,” said
the officer.
“Murder?” asked Michelle, “who
died?”
“That young man named Brandon,” said
the officer, “has died.”
“I don’t understand,” said Michelle,
“When did this happen?”
“Right after your gym class he walks
out into the street in front of oncoming traffic and is immediately run over by
a bus,” said the officer, “he is dead by the time he is noticed by someone.”
“He
had my blood in him didn’t he?” asked Michelle.
“Yep,”
said the voice, “And once he awakens, I will
have enough strength to take over forever.”
“Officer,” said Michelle, “do you
have any proof that I caused his death directly?”
“No,” said the cop.
“Then arrest me,” said Michelle,
“Because that is the only way I’m leaving this campus.”
