The
City Streets…
Michelle is walking the city streets
searching hi and low for vampires. Her plan was to slay everyone she finds
unless they were her own. But as the night moved on, her desire to call her
clan together grew intense. This starts when she spots a vampire ahead of her.
She pulls out a stake and begins to move faster toward her target.
“Your
time is through monster,” she thought to herself when the pain hit her
chest, “Ah!”
The vampire turns around and immediately
recognizes Michelle.
“My queen,” she says, “What is
wrong?”
As soon as the pain came, it went
away leading Michelle to say, “I’m alright.”
“Why do you have a stake in your
hand my queen?” asked the vampire.
“Well,” said Michelle, “I was going
to slay you tonight but due to the fact that you are in my clan, doing so would
hurt me a big deal. So please run before I change my mind.”
“No, my queen,” said the vampire, “I
can’t do that until I know for you sure you are alright and safe.”
“You are very loyal,” said Michelle,
“but the cause of my pain is the fact that I am 100% vampire queen and 100%
vampire slayer. One side wants you dead and the other wants you to serve me. I
thought I defeated the side that wants your service but it is getting stronger
as the night progresses. I just don’t understand why yet.”
The vampire looks up at the full
moon.
“Could that be why?” asked the
vampire, “those things have different effects on all super natural creatures
including vampires, especially those who can practice witchcraft.”
“That’s got to be it,” said
Michelle, “The moon is calling for my magic to be used tonight. Well I guess I
can give up vampire slaying for now.”
“Where are you going, my queen?”
asked the vampire.
“Home,” said Michelle, “Or at least
my new home in the cave below my old home.”
“May I join you, my queen?” asked
the vampire.
“Yes,” said Michelle, “please. I
would like that a lot.”
They head toward the cave below
Michelle’s house.
Chapter 17
“Mom,” said Wendy as they approached
the water, “I know I was mad at you for making us vampires but I realize now
you were trying to save my life and because her blood in me was permanent the
only way I was ever going to return to Atlantis was to become a vampire. What
I’m trying to say is I forgive you.”
“Thank-you,” said Wanda, “that means
so much to me. And I want you to know that I am very proud of you.”
“Do you think we’ll be successful in
convincing them that I should still have the throne?” asked Wendy.
“There is only one way to find out,”
said Wanda.
“Let’s do this,” said Wendy who was
one step away from initializing the transformation from human form to mermaid
form.
She dives off the deck into the
water. Wanda follows her. Their bodies go through a transformation a vampire
has never gone through.
“You
know mom,” said Wendy, “As many times
as I have journeyed between Earth and Atlantis, this process of becoming a
mermaid in the water has never felt so amazing as it does now. It is as if I’m
becoming one for the first time.”
“Wendy
my dear,” said Wanda, “As someone who
has died but somehow is still alive, this is your first time. And mine too.”
“That
makes since,” said Wendy, “but it is
still very amazing.”
They swim deep into the water until
they reach the limits most humans can swim to.
“Well,”
said Wendy, “Once we cross this point
home isn’t that far off.”
“No,”
said Wanda, “It sure isn’t.”
They pass the point and instantly
they see the city of Atlantis. It is just sitting there under the water looking
like it is ready for invaders to come in. But what those invaders don’t know is
there is an invisible force field dome surrounding it that only mermaids can
pass through. The two vampire-mermaids pass through which alters their forms
once again.
Michelle and the vampire who was
following her enter the cave. The vampire is shocked to see so many people
turned to stone.
“My queen,” said the vampire, “who
are these people and why were they turned to stone.”
“These are potential vampires,” said
Michelle, “and they were turned to stone for that reason.”
“Who did this and why?” asked the
vampire.
“It was my mother or rather my
grandmother,” said Michelle, “the fairy queen. She was hoping to stop me from
embracing what I am but here I am, a fully embraced vampire queen.”
“Can the spell be reversed?” asked
the vampire.
“I thinking and hoping it can,” said
Michelle, “Fairy dust cast the spell but witchcraft should be able to reverse
it. I’m not real sure if I’m strong enough to do it.”
“Are you saying that you have
witchcraft?” asked the vampire.
“Yes,” said Michelle, “I am saying
that.”
“Is it not true that if the queen
has witchcraft magic then so does the entire clan?” asked the vampire.
“Yes,” said Michelle, “that is
exactly right. Thank-you for reminding me of that.”
“You are welcome my queen,” said the
vampire.
“What’s your name?” asked Michelle.
“It’s Renee,” said the vampire.
“How long have you been a vampire?”
asked Michelle.
“Not long,” said Renee, “about two
months.”
“How would you like to be my second
in command?” asked Michelle.
“Over the clan?” asked Renee.
“Yes,” said Michelle, “When I’m away
from here, you will be in charge.”
“My queen,” said Renee, “It will be
such an honor.”
“Good,” said Michelle, “Now speaking
of the clan, I think it is time I called them.”
Upon entering the city, Wanda and
Wendy are immediately met by guards.
“Oh good,” said Wendy, “escorts to
the palace and my throne.”
“More like the dungeon for you two
young lady,” said one of the guards.
“Dungeon?” asked Wanda, “Why there?”
“Because that is where all intruders
to Atlantis are taken until the Queen decides what shall be done,” said the
guard.
“We know that,” said Wendy, “but
wait the queen? How can there be a queen? Do you see a crown on my head?”
“All I see is a vampire who somehow
got her hands on an Atlantisian form and is here for the purpose of invading
Atlantis,” said the guard.
“Willard,” said Wanda, “is that the
way to talk to the Princess.”
“Mam,” said Willard, “If you are
talking about Wendy, she died months ago therefore making Whitney the true heir
apparent.”
“But I’m right here,” said Wendy.
“Yes, you are,” said Willard, “but
you are still considered dead and have no claim to the throne and by orders of
the late King Webster, the council immediately crowned Whitney Queen of
Atlantis and it is her decision what your fate will be.”
Chains are placed on Wendy and
Wanda. They were then led away to the palace. When they entered they were
immediately recognized by some of the staff.
“Hey where are you guards taking the
Queen and her daughter?” one of them asked.
“We’re taking these intruders to the
dungeon to await a decision from the queen,” said Willard.
“But that is the Queen and her
daughter the Princess,” said the staff member.
“Correction,” said Willard, “These
two are vampires who have invaded Atlantis.”
“But they look just like Wanda and
Wendy,” said the staff member.
“Wanda and Wendy died months ago,”
said Willard, “these two are nothing more than vampire invaders. If the queen
is wise she will have them immediately executed the way vampires should be
executed.”
“Mom,”
thought Wendy, “Is this really the end of
us?
“No,”
said Wanda, “If just one person believes
we are who we are by just looking at us and dismisses that we are vampires then
there is a chance we will not only survive this but take the throne itself.”
When they arrive in the dungeon,
Wanda and Wendy are each thrown into a cell and told to keep quiet.
