Bite Me v.7 Chapter 10 Part 3 of 7

Michelle comes out of her trance.

Man,” she thought, “that was weird. And not the first time it happened. Oh well, back to writing to my diary.”

“Man, that was weird,” wrote Michelle, “I just experienced a blackout. I have been having them over the course of the last week. But this time was different. This time it was if I was in another realm of reality or something. I don’t know what is going on but I think it may have something to do with my mother. My dad or rather my grandfather was very silent when I asked something about her. He wouldn’t tell me if my mom was as enthusiastic about hunting and slaying vampires as I am. He was just silent and that was all. He’s hiding something. I just don’t know what. But back to just what happen. I was somewhere between this world and another I guess. And I was speaking to this little girl who had just died and she thought I was an angel and I told her no I was um…um… well I don’t remember what it was I told her but it seemed to calmed her then suddenly she disappeared and then I disappeared and here I am telling you about it.”

            She pauses.

“I don’t know what is going to happen next,” she writes, “but to go back to controlling those two girls. They are the most powerful students in the school. They control everything. If I really can control their every move then I might consider using them to get me elected president of the student body council. Who knows it might just work.”

She stops writing and puts up her diary.

Aphrodite was visiting with Athena, her cousin in her bedroom. She is finding out things for the first time.

“You telling me that Michelle is a vampire queen?” she asked.

“Yeah,” said Athena, “And somehow we got her blood in us and that is how she is controlling us.”

“Is there a way to stop this?” asked Aphrodite.

“Killing Michelle is the only way,” said Athena, “but we won’t be able to do it because if we close to her she’ll be able to control us.”

“So what we need her to do is to control us to do things that will actually weaken her not strengthen her,” said Aphrodite.

“What do you mean?” asked Athena.

“What makes a vampire queen so strong?” asked Aphrodite.

“The vampires in her clan?” asked Athena.

“Right,” said Aphrodite, “and what would killing those vampires do to Michelle?”

            “Weaken her?” asked Athena.

“Correct again,” said Aphrodite, “What if we started going on hunting and slaying exhibitions and get rid of all the vampires in the community. Don’t you think that will weaken her to the point we can then resist her control and kill her as well?”

“I don’t know,” said Athena, “she doesn’t even know she is a vampire queen. And we don’t know what vampires are loyal to her or to another queen or who are rogue. We would be doing something that is good for the community for naught if it doesn’t actually weaken her. It is because her blood is in us that she can control us. It has nothing to do with the vampires in her clan.”

“I see,” said Aphrodite, “What is Michelle’s last name?”

            “Van Helsing,” said Athena.

“Van Helsing,” repeated Aphrodite, “that means it is also in her blood to kill vampires. What if we trick her into wanting us to assist her when she goes out to slay vampires and watch as each vampire dies if it affects her or not then we will know if she is weakening. It is when she is severely weaken from multiple slayings of members of her own clan that we will have an opportunity to kill her. “

“That might actually work,” said Athena, “but we would have to wait until the exact point where she will be too weak to fight us before we try to kill her because if she senses we are secretly planning to kill her she will use her ability to control us to stop it from happening.”

“Well then,” said Aphrodite, “First thing Monday morning before school we’ll see if she’ll be willing to take on some assistance in her quest to kill vampires.”

            “Find with me,” said Athena.

“Hey Michelle, wait up,” said Athena as she and Aphrodite joined her as she went inside.

“What do you two want now?” asked Michelle.

“Is it true you are a vampire slayer?” asked Aphrodite.

“Well,” said Michelle who looked around to see if anyone is watching, “I’m not one yet. I’ve got two more weeks of training to go before I can actually start according to my dad.”

“We were wondering if we could join you in slaying vampires,” said Athena.

“I don’t know if that is such a good idea,” said Michelle, “It’s dangerous. You could be killed. I could be killed then how would you be able to defend yourself?”

“If you can trained to be a slayer?” asked Aphrodite, “why can’t we?”

“Okay,” said Michelle, “Allow me to talk to my dad first about it then I’ll get back to you tomorrow morning. Okay?”

            “Find with me,” said Athena.

            “Me too,” said Aphrodite.

“Very well,” said Michelle, “I better be going. I don’t want to be late like I was last Monday.”

She gives Athena a look and then laughs.

“But before I do,” said Michelle, “I’m thinking about signing up to run for Student Body President next year. Do I have both of your support?”

“Yeah,” said Athena, “I’ll even be your campaign manager.”

“Good,” said Michelle, “because that is exactly what I wanted.”

The first bell rings and Michelle runs down the hall to her first class. Athena and her cousin stand there bewildered over what just happen.
