“I’m sorry,” said the doctor, “there
is nothing I can do for her. She is going to die within the next hour.”
“Oh Susan,” said the mom.
“I love you mommy,” said Susan, “I’m
sorry I climb that tree so high.”
“It’s okay sweetheart,” said her
mom, “you always were our little monkey. And I love you too.”
The girl coughs and then cries out
in pain. This is when an image of Michelle appears before her eyes.
“Mommy?” asked Susan, “do you
believe in angels?”
“I sure do,” said her mom, “they are
always watching over us.”
“Well I see one of the most
beautiful angels in the room right now,” said Susan, “I believe they are
waiting to take me with them.”
She coughs some more then gives out
one last cry of pain before taking her last breath and dying.
“No!” cried her mom, “Please, Susan,
don’t die.”
The doctor checks her vitals and
then looks up at the mom.
“I’m sorry,” said the doctor, “she’s
gone.”
“Why did this have to happen to
Susan?” asked the mom, “she was such a sweet little girl.
“Where am I?” asked Susan, “Is this
Heaven?”
“I’m afraid not,” said a voice.
Susan looks up and sees Michelle
looking at her.
“You’re the angel I saw before I
died,” said Susan.
“Actually,” said Michelle, “I’m not
an angel.”
“What are you?” asked Susan.
“I’m a vampire queen,” said
Michelle, “your vampire queen. And my name is Michelle. In exactly 12 hours you
will reawaken in your body as a vampire. But you will not start to crave human
blood for additional 12 hours.”
“I’m a vampire?” asked Susan,
“cool!”
“I must warn you,” said Michelle,
“there are those who wish to destroy our kind. Although you will desire human
blood, it is one that can be suppressed for a little while. When that time
comes suppress the urge all that you can and continue living the life you were
supposed to until I come to you again.”
“When will that be?” asked Susan.
“I don’t know,” said Michelle, “I,
myself am new to all of this. I was only awaken as a queen a week ago and in my
human form I am not fully aware of what I truly am. It will be a struggle for
control but I will win. We vampire queens always win.”
Susan began to fade away.
“What’s happening to me?” she asked.
“You are returning to your body so
the transformation can begin,” said Michelle, “Soon you will no longer here my
voice until I make contact again.”
“Am I still dead?’ asked Susan.
“Yes,” said Michelle, “you will
forever be a member of the walking dead known to all as vampires.”
“Good bye,” said Susan, “Michelle.”
