Bite Me v.7 Chapter 10 Part 1 of 7 (Mid-Season Finale)

The Blood-donor Clinic Morgue…

A clanging sound began to occur in each slot as the sleeping humans waiting to be feast on began to wake up.

Chapter Ten

Mia and Martha were brought out before the queen. Martha was in rags and chains.

“Well Mia by all means,” said Victoria, “Martha is all yours. Bite away.”

            “But I’ll die,” said Martha.

“Exactly,” said Victoria, “a punishment deemed fit for a traitor.”

“Not if I escape,” said Martha touching her gem to become a fairy but nothing happens.

“I don’t understand,” said Martha, “I’m still a fairy so why can’t I return to that form.”

“Because as long as the cave is depressurized you can’t become a fairy without dying,” said Victoria, “the only way to possibly escape is to use your magic as a human.”

“But that will turn me into a witch,” said Martha.

“Indeed it will and one bite from me will just kill ya,” said Mia, “and then I will have my revenge.”

Seeing as she had no choice Martha turned herself invisible thus turning herself into a witch. And with that Mia quickly attacked her and bit her in the neck thus killing her instantly.

            “Thank-you my queen,” said Mia.

“You are quite welcome,” said Victoria.

At that time Judy comes into the throne room acting very panicky.

“My queen,” said Judy, “I have urgent news.”

            “What is it?” asked Victoria.

“The sleeping donors are waking up at an alarming rate,” said Judy, “It was Jessica’s spell as a genie. She must have been freed from her bottle. That would reverse the spell eventually.”

“I need to find me a new genie at once,” said Victoria.

“Shall I go look for a genie maker?” asked Judy, “I’m sure I can find one.”

“I’m sure you can too,” said Victoria, “so yes go.”

She exits the throne room then the cave.

“That’s it Michelle,” said David as he watches and coaches his daughter in her training to be a vampire slayer, “never miss a mark when fighting vampires. If you have an opportunity to slay one, take it.”

By this time Michelle was working on her target practice. The targets, cardboard cutouts of vampires and she was not missing a single one. And after about a half hour of doing this, she was ready to shower and go home.

“Well,” said David, “I have to say after two sections, you are almost ready to go out on your first hunt.”

“I am?” asked Michelle, “That’s great.”

“But you are only almost ready,” said David, “You’re not quite there yet. You need at least two more weeks of training before I’ll say you are ready for your first hunt.”

“Two more weeks?” asked Michelle, “man I can’t wait. Was my mom this excited about hunting vampires?”

            No answer.

“Dad?” asked Michelle, “why didn’t you answer my question?”

            Still no answer.

“Did my mom not want to be a vampire slayer or something?” asked Michelle, “did you have to force her or something?”

            No answer.

There is something he’s not telling me,” thought Michelle, “too bad I don’t have the ability to probe his mind and find out what he is thinking.”

I can’t even think about what happen to her mother or she’ll know when she learns she can probe human minds,” thought David.

They arrive home and Michelle immediately heads up to her room. She picks up her dairy and begins to write.

“Dear Diary,” she writes, “some strange things have been happening to me lately. First, I find out I am a direct descendent of Van Helsing the famous vampire slayer. Then I find out that I can control others. Well actually, it turns out I can control only two girls at school. Oh, the things I made them do this week at school without even trying were rather funny. And somehow or another it got me a spot on next year’s cheerleading squad. But being the descendant of Van Helsing comes with other perks. I get to take on the role of the town’s heroic vampire slayer. It’s my destiny according to my dad. And apparently I am going to be a good one because I always met my mark in training today but he says I still have two more sessions to go before I start hunting vampires. I guess I’m okay with that. But here is something that has been happening to me that I am not sure he knows about and I surely don’t want him or my mom to find about.”

She pauses for a minute then continues to write.

“Sometimes when I look into a mirror I see a strange reflection of myself looking back at me,” she writes, “and to make it worse she even talks to me and tells me things like I have a different destiny than the one laid out for me by my parents. I don’t know what to make out about this. Here’s the strange thing. You know the one thing I am training to kill, vampires. That is what my reflection looks like. What is my true destiny? Am I supposed to become a vampire or am I supposed to destroy them? I don’t recall exactly what my reflection told me but because it is my reflection that means only one thing. It is me telling me that slaying vampires is not my true destiny. I don’t know what to make of this but it can’t be good. That is why I am going to continue to train hard and when I go on my first hunt, I’m going to destroy as many vampires as I can.”
