The bus arrives at this huge mansion
and Michelle gets out and walks inside.
“Mom? Dad?” she asks, “I’m home!”
No answer.
“Mom?” she asks again, “I’m home!”
Still no answer.
“I guess they’re not home,” she says
heading up to her room, “Time to do my homework.”
“Michelle sweetie,” says a female
voice, “We’re home.”
Michelle excited that her parents
are home runs down the stairs and gives them each a big hug.
“Uh oh,” said the woman, “Michelle
wants something.”
“Why can’t I give you two a hug
without it being because I want something?” asked Michelle.
“Because it rarely is,” said the
man, “Now what do you want?”
“To sign this permission slip,” said
Michelle who then lied by saying, “It’s for a field trip.”
Without hesitating, the man signs
the permission slip.
“There you go my little angel,” said
the man.
“Uh David,” said the woman once
Michelle had returned to her room with the signed slip in her hand, “You didn’t
even read to make sure what it’s for and knowing what we do about what she
could become why do you always call her your little ‘angel?’ She’s not one. Far
from it.”
“Psychology,” said David, “All we
have to do is to make her believe that she is an angel and when the time comes
for her to decide if she wants to be that thing you mention she’ll remember my
pet name for her and that will instantly convince her to be an angel instead of
that thing. Besides she’s a Van Helsing, it’s the dominant side of her
personality and that thing won’t be allowed to emerge.”
“Uh David,” said the woman, “Being a
Van Helsing didn’t stop her mom from becoming one of them and look what happen
to her.”
“Mary,” said David, “Melinda was in
a state of rebellion when she turned. She became a rogue too which allowed her
to become pregnant which she did and that made her off limits to hunters.
Because even though she was a member of the undead, her child wasn’t. Michelle
wasn’t. If we convince her to not only fight and slay vampires but also to hate
them then she’ll do everything she can not to become their queen.”
“And if she does anyway?” asked
Mary.
“We’ll cross that bridge when we get
to it,” said David.
“I still think you should have read
the permission slip,” said Mary, “who knows what she just had you do.”
“What possibly could be the worst
thing I could have sign permission for her to do at school that would harm her
and others?” asked David.
“A blood drive,” said Mary.
“They actually have them for junior
high students?” asked David.
“I believe so,” said Mary.
“Why?” asked David, “they have no
need to give blood at such a young age do they?”
“No, but you never know when they
might need blood,” said Mary.
“But they can easily get matching
blood from adult donors,” said David.
“Yes,” said Mary, “They can but I
think they won’t to teach these kids why donating is so important and they want
to do it at a good young age but because they are so young…”
“It requires a parent’s signature,”
said David, “But Michelle does know that we don’t want her to do this right?”
“Well we told her not to do it,”
said Mary, “But she’s 14 years old, a teenager, she’s bound to rebel and go
against orders. Her mom did.”
“What do you think we should do?”
asked David.
“Get a look at the permission slip
so we can know for sure what it is we gave permission for her to do it,” said
Mary.
“And when do we do this?” asked
David.
“We don’t,” said Mary, “I’ll do it as the ‘Fairy Queen.”
She raises her arms up into the air
and touches her forehead.
“Become
the Fairy Queen!” she thought to herself.
As she thought this command a puff
of pink smoke appeared and covered her body. Within the smoke she began to
shrink to a small size. A pink leotard appeared over her body and wings grew
out of her spine through her skin. Then a crown appeared on her head. A wand
appeared in her hand. Once the transformation was done she turns invisible and
the smoke disperses. She flies over to her husband and gets in his eyesight. He
doesn’t see her because she has to reveal herself to him first.
“David,” she said.
And with that he sees her.
“Wow,” said David, “I’ll never get
use to seeing you in this form.”
“And we’ve been married for how many
years?” asked Mary who then laughed.
“Not long enough,” said David, “Just
how do you plan on checking the permission slip in that form?”
“Very simple really,” said Mary,
“like this.”
She waves her wand and some objects
begin to float in the air.
“Oh I get it,” said David, “You are
going to use telekinesis.”
“Something like that,” said Mary.
She becomes invisible and flies up
to Michelle’s room.
