Bite Me v.7: Chapter 3: Part 4 of 4

10 minutes later….

It didn’t take Michelle long to learn the correct punches and when and she began to overcome her father in every attempt he made to attack her.

“Wow,” said David, “You are a fast learner.”

“Thank you,” said Michelle, taking a towel, “What’s next?”

“How about we stop for the day,” said David, “You’ve done so well so fast that I am going have to think about what I could train you on next. So go take a shower okay?”

“Okay,” said Michelle, “See you in a little while.”

She walks back into the girls’ locker room but this time with her gym bag. She walks by the mirror and manages to catch a glimpse of herself when she saw her reflection had change once again to that of a vampire.

Strange,” she thought, “Twice in one day my reflection shows me as a vampire when I’m not one. Is this some kind of a trick?”

She turns away and then checks again and her reflection was normal.

“What is going on?” she asked.

She proceeds to remove her clothes and grabs a towel to wrap around herself and grabs her soap, shampoo, and another towel and enters a shower. She turns on the water and begins to proceed to wash her hair when…

You might be successful in slaying my kind but you will never slay me,” said a strange voice.

            “Huh?” she asked.

She turns off the water and sticks her head outside the curtain.

“Is someone out there?” she asked, “and do you need me for something?”

            No answer.

“Strange,” she said to herself before turning the water back and continuing to wash her hair.

            Michelle!” called the voice.

“Yeah!” she called out loud turning the water off again, “seriously if you need me for something, stop the silence when I answer.”

            No response.

“Okay,” said Michelle, “I’ll just ignore you then.”

She turns the water back on and continues her shower.

Ignore me for now,” said the voice, “But a time will come when you will have a choice and it will either be me or him. Your choice better be a wise one.”

As promised Michelle ignores the voice and finishes her shower. She proceeds to put fresh clothes on and gathers her belongings before joining her father in the gym.

“Are you ready to go?” asked David.

“I sure am,” said Michelle trying to sound like she is in a good mood although that voice in her head was bothering her.”

“Are you sure you are okay?” asked David.

“Yes, I am fine,” insists Michelle.

“Okay,” said David, “Let’s go home.”

They exit the community center and get into David’s truck and head home.

Preview of Chapter Four:

11:00 P.M.; the night before…

A young woman was walking home after being released from the clinic. Both the clinic and the group gathering meeting were close to where she lived. There was a mysterious stranger following her. He started when she left her apartment to go to the meeting and continued once she left the clinic. At first he kept his distance of about 10 yards but got closer and closer to her as they walked.

“Katherine,” he said when he got to a distance of only a few feet.

When she heard her name she stopped and froze.

“Who are you and what do you want?” she asked.

“I just want to talk,” he said.

She turns around to look at the guy and when she sees him she instantly recognizes him.

“I’m sorry,” she said, “but I don’t want to have anything to do with you.”

She takes off running. He pursues her. She in attempt to escape him runs down a dark alley and hides behind some garbage cans. He follows her.

“Katherine,” he said, “I promise not to harm you. I just want to talk. Please come and face me.”

“Leave me alone,” she called out, “I don’t have anything to do with you are your family, Kevin.”

“Listen,” said Kevin, “I don’t want to anything to do with my family either. I don’t like the kind of business they are in and that is why I went to college to avoid going into that kind of business.”

“How do I know you are telling me the truth?” asked Katherine.

“You don’t,” said Kevin, “but to prove to you I will not harm you. I am putting my gun on the ground and taking five steps away. Come out and pick it up and point it to me. Then you can use it to force my family to leave you and your family alone or you will shoot me.”

            “I don’t believe you,” said Katherine, “It’s a trap.”

“Okay,” said Kevin, “then let’s fake both of our deaths and run off together.”
