From Chapter
Four:
The
Forest Clearing…
Mindy draws the pentagram on Julie’s
chest while chanting something in Latin. Mandy then carves the same symbol
causing Julie to bleed. The blood flows down her body to the urn underneath the
altar that then releases a beam of light. This causes Julie who is now in a
trance to glow. When the glow glimmers down some, Melissa takes the same knife
and lunges it into Julie’s chest cavity where heart resides thus killing her
instantly. The time of death was 2:00 in the morning.
Michelle’s
bedroom…
At this exact time Michelle suddenly
awakens and shoots up in the bed. Her eyes are a very dark color and she too is
in a trance.
“My rise to power has begun,” she
said before laying back down and going back to sleep.
Chapter Five
Kevin’s Mansion;
8:00 A.M….
Kimberly walks into the room holding
Katherine with Kevin right behind her. She was holding the same gun in her hand
she pointed at Katherine the night before. She points it at a bruised-up from
multiple beatings young woman. Katherine could barely move to face Kimberly.
“Well” said Kimberly, “your time is
up. Will you marry my son?”
“If this is the life that is
expected of me by marrying your son then I rather be dead,” said Katherine.
“I’ll take that as a no,” said
Kimberly.
“Bang!” came a sound from the gun as
Katherine collapses completely on the floor and dies.
“What do we do with her mother?”
asked Kevin.
“Clean her up and then throw her
body in the junk pile with all the other girls who once refused to marry you,”
instructed Kimberly.
“Yes, mam,” said Kevin.
The Forest
Clearing; 2 P.M. Saturday…
Julie suddenly wakes up and realizes
she is still alive.
“Wait a minute,” she said, “I’m
supposed to be dead. But yet I’m alive? How is that possible?”
She finds herself still bound to the
altar but she easily breaks free which was another thing she found strange.
“Wait a minute,” she said, “I can
break free from tight bonds now? I was never able to do it when I was little
and my cousins would tie me up to a chair. Now those witches told me that my
soul would be transformed into energy which would be deposited into them once
they burn my body tonight. Well they sure are not going to be able to burn my
dead body if I’m not well dead. I just don’t understand. I died last night when
she stabbed my heart. I know I did. I felt my spirit leave my body.”
She sits back down on the altar. She
thinks about everything that happened the night before. Going to the Group
gathering that she felt was a joke considering everything going on with the group
that put it on. And the fact that the tent collapsed on everyone injuring over
two hundred people, her being one of them. Then being magically transported to
a clinic in the middle of town for a blood transfusion. And running into
trouble cousins after that just to have to run for her life in order to avoid
joining a gang whose initiation for the girls is something she doesn’t want to
do unto marriage. And finally running into the three sister witches who wanted
to sacrifice her so they can become more powerful which led to her death only
she is not dead but alive. But how?
“It just doesn’t make sense,” she
said again.
She looks around the forest
clearing.
“I wonder if I should try entering
their home from their secret entrance to the forest and see if they will have
answers as to why I’m not dead.”
She walks over to the entrance when
she remembers something.
“Wait,” she said, “Mindy said that
only witches and those with them can pass through this portal. It will probably
feel like a brick wall if I tried to enter without one of them.”
She stands there for a minute and
thinks about it.
“Well it wouldn’t hurt to try,” she
said before attempting to enter through the portal.
When she does she feels an electric
shock but something else was keeping her from entering the portal. Something
invisible.
“I can’t get in,” she said, “And
what was that electric shock for? I guess to keep away intruders.”
Suddenly a loud computerized voice
began to speak.
“Who dares attempt to enter the Witches lair
without being accompanied by a witch in this coven?” asked the voice.
“I’m sorry,” said Julie, “I need to
talk to any one of the sister witches Mindy, Mandy or Melissa. It’s urgent.”
“Who is paging the sister witches?”
asked the voice.
“My name is Julie,” she said.
“I’m sorry,” said the voice, “but
according to the files in my memory, Julie is dead.”
“I know,” said Julie, “I was killed
last night. But for some reason, I’m alive again. And I want to know if they
would know why?”
“I’m sorry,” said the voice, “but it
does not compute that someone who is dead can be alive again.”
“But yet I am,” said Julie.
“I’m sorry,” said the voice, “but it
still does not compute.”
“Well,” said Julie, “okay, thanks
anyway.”
“You are welcome,” said the voice.
She walks away from the portal
entrance.
“There’s got to be a reason as to
why I am alive again when I know I died last night,” said Julie, “Let’s see; I
went to a group gathering meeting; I was injured when the roof collapsed on me.
I was given a blood transfusion and released and then later I died on that
altar over there. Wait a minute. That’s it! The blood transfusion it was
vampire blood. It had to be. What else would bring me back to life but vampire
blood. But this just brings more questions to me. Why was vampire blood
transfused into my body? I know I needed the blood but a blood donor bank
should always have a supply of blood in their vault. Why use vampire blood?
Unless someone wanted me to become a vampire but then how would they know that
I would be injured so I could have a blood-transfusion? There’s got to be a
reasonable explanation.”
She walks over too and then sits
down on the altar.
“If I’m a vampire where are my
fangs?” she asked, “I don’t feel any are in my mouth. I really don’t feel much different than before. I’m even still in
rags.”
She begins to think about her
conversation with Mindy. And with her thinking about it comes her laughing
about it.
“Oh my,” she said, “Mindy said she
would rather be bitten by a vampire than become a genie. The she said that if
this happens she would die but her powers would be transferred into the vampire
that bit her and wouldn’t it be great if that vampire was me?”
She smiled at that thought and that
normal smile became an evil smile as she had decided to do just this.
Minutes
later in the Witches Lair…
“Alert! Alert! Alert!” called the
computerized voice that monitors the
portal, “Intruder Alert.”
The girls were still in bed after
being up all night performing that ceremony. The alert call wakes them up and
they go running in their evening gowns.
“Computer,” said Melissa, “what’s
going on?”
“Intruder alert,” said the computer.
“Where is this intruder?” asked
Mandy.
“In the clearing,” said the
computer, “tried to pass through portal and claims to be the dead sacrifice
known as Julie.”
“Well it couldn’t have possibly been
her,” said Mindy, “Because she died early this morning. We all witness this
right?”
“Right” said the other two girls in
unison.
“Then who or what could have
attempted to pass through the portal?” asked Mindy, “the only one who knows
which clearing entrance is even the portal is Julie and she’s dead.”
“What if she isn’t,” said Mandy,
“What if she’s a warlock and pretended to be human so she can find out which
entrance was to our home so she could come in and make us genies while we slept
or something.”
“No, if she was a warlock,” said
Melissa, “she would have felt a shock if she tried to pass through.”
“Computer,” said Mindy, “did the
intruder feel a shock when she tried to pass through the portal?”
“Yes,” said the voice.
“Well then that settles it,” said
Mandy, “We sacrificed a warlock last night.”
“However,” said the voice, “Warlocks
are not the only supernatural creatures that are ‘shocked’ when they passed
through the portal. Werewolves, Mermaids, dragons, fairies, and Vampires also
feel shocks if they tried to cross through the portal without permission.”
“Wait that means no matter what she
was not human when we sacrificed her last night,” said Mandy, “and we won’t be
gaining any more power tonight.”
“No,” said Mindy, “she was
definitely human last night when we came here to get her appropriately
dressed.”
“She didn’t feel a shock at all?”
asked Mandy.
“I don’t think so,” said Mindy.
“Well then there is only one
possible reason why she would be able to be alive right now if she’s not
human,” said Melissa, “And that is the last option the computer gave.”
“Vampires!” yelled the sisters in
unison.
“But I have a question,” said Mindy,
“How is she a vampire?”
“That’s a good question,” said
Melissa, “the spell should not have worked like it did if she had vampire blood
in her because vampire blood is dead blood.”
“But it did work,” said Mindy, “And
another thing is she died when you stabbed her in the heart.”
“Which is why she is probably a
vampire,” said Mandy.
“Okay,” said Mindy, “How did this
happen? Where did the vampire blood come from and how did it get in her? And
most importantly why would someone want her to become a vampire?”
“Here’s a thought,” said Mandy,
“What if the blood that turned her was not just vampire blood but queen’s
blood?”
“But that would mean that someone is
trying to awaken another queen,” said Melissa, “But who? We have too many as it
is.”
“Maybe that’s it,” said Mandy, “What
if one of the current queens is trying to get rid of the others so she can be
the only one.”
“That makes so much sense,” said
Melissa, “We need to find out who the next queen is before she awakens so we
can get rid of her ourselves.”
“Agreed,” said the twins.
“Computer,” said Melissa, “Display
on screen all girls who have the best chance of becoming Vampire Queens.”
The computer displays the names and
one name stood out that caught their attention.
“No,” said Melissa.
“It’s not possible,” said Mandy.
“It’s incredible if it’s true,” said
Mindy.
“The top candidate with the
probability of becoming a vampire queen is a descendant of Van Helsing?” they
asked in unison.
“Computer,” said Melissa, “display
the prophesy regarding the descendants of Van Helsing.”
When the prophesy appears on the
screen the witches immediately begin to read.
“It’s true,” said Melissa, “Michelle
Van Helsing is destined to become a vampire queen.”
“Does she know this?” asked Mindy,
“And do we really have to slay her. I mean she’s our friend right?”
“That is correct,” said Mandy, “But
if she’s a future queen then she’s going to be a very difficult nemeses to
defeat.”
“And Julie,” said Mindy, “will more
than likely be loyal to her in school?”
“How do we stop her from becoming
queen?” asked Mandy.
“We don’t have to,” said Melissa,
“She will enact her own destruction.”
“But what about Julie?” asked Mandy,
“She’s just passed that portal probably waiting for us to leave so she can
drink our blood and kill us and claim our power as her own.”
“Well it doesn’t matter, now,” said
Melissa, “We have to go and at least talk to her.”
“Well then what are we waiting for,”
said Mindy, “Let’s go!”
“Wait,” said Melissa, “Computer,
what does the current legend on modern vampires say about vampires when they
wake up for the first time.”
“The legend says,” began the voice,
“those vampires who just wake up will not exhibit any vampire features unless
it is after the hour of sunset.”
“So she won’t even have the desire
to drink our blood until 6,” said Mindy.
“How come she isn’t burnt ashes?”
asked Mandy, “Aren’t vampires sensitive to sunlight?”
“Rogue vampires are,” said Melissa,
“if she has queen’s blood in her, the sun will never bother her.”
“You know I’m still concern about
why one would go to such great troubles to make sure she and others I’m certain
too were given vampire blood so when they die they would become vampires
again,” said Mindy, “if it is so one queen can become the only one then that is
the queen we need to target to get rid of.”
“Enough about that,” said Melissa,
“Let’s go to the clearing and talk with Julie and see what she knows and where
she wants to do next.”
They each pass through the portal
and arrive at the clearing where they find Julie laying on the altar.
“Is she asleep are dead again?”
asked Mindy.
“I don’t know,” said Mandy, “I think
so.”
They walk closer to her and find
that she is indeed asleep on the altar.
“Isn’t there a way to still capture
her soul and transform it into energy for us?” asked Mindy.
“I don’t think so,” said Melissa,
“Her soul probably exited the body the moment she died since the vampire blood
was in her.”
“Should we wake her up?” asked
Mandy.
“Uh, Julie?” asked Melissa.
Julie’s eyes pop open.
“Oh hi,” she said, “I was wondering
if you three would ever come out here. I guess you are wondering why I am
alive. To be honest, so am I. All I can gather from playing back yesterday’s
events in my head is that I was given vampire blood last night at that clinic
and I died before the 24 hour period was up. I really don’t feel any different
and I don’t understand. I thought if I became a vampire I would immediately be
breaking necks drinking blood. Not to mention searching for the nearest spot
away from direct sunlight. And…”
“Sorry to interrupt,” said Melissa,
“but I think we can answer some of those questions. We too believe you were
given vampire blood in the transfusion last night. In fact we believe that it was vampire queen’s blood.”
“Well that will explain why I’m not
already a pile of ashes right now,” said Julie, “And that I would have become a
vampire anyway no matter when I died. But how come I don’t have any vampire
like features and the desire for blood.”
“You will,” said Mindy, “At 6:00
tonight.”
“It usually takes a vampire 24 hours
to wake up after dying and that is because of the sunlight but with queen’s
blood it only takes 12 hours but they have a 12 hour transition period before
the actual transformation takes place with the desires beginning to occur.
“So technically, I’m not a vampire
until then,” said Julie, “Is it possible for you still to transform my soul
into energy.”
“ We believe your soul exited your
body when you died because of the vampire blood,” said Melissa, “If you still
have your soul intact then it would be possible to transform it to energy by
burning your body but you would not be dead when it happens.”
“She is still technically dead,”
said Mindy, “She is just a walking dead corpse.”
“So what do we do?” asked Mandy.
“We wait until the full moon rises
tonight and continue on with our plan of burning Julie’s body,” said Melissa,
“Now Julie, you will have to be restrained again and I know that you will have
the strength to break free anytime you like but you will have to resist in
order for this to work. There is still a chance your soul resides in you. The
spell worked last night because your body glowed right before I stabbed your
heart so if it wasn’t for the whole vampire blood thing your soul would not
have exited your body until tonight when we set your body ablaze.”
“But I did have vampire blood in me
when I died which is why I’m talking to you right now,” said Julie.
“Correct,” said Melissa, “if the spell
in any way counteracted the vampire blood then you should have your soul. And
that means once we burn your body, the soul will be free to enter us as magical
energy.”
“I hope your right,” said Julie.
