Saved by the Bell Season 3 Review Part 1

Okay, I am back with another Saved by the Bell Review. This time it is with the season that was the height of the show's popularity: Season 3. Now in my opinion Seasons 3 and 4 are really the same season but the DVD box sets separate them into two so my reviews will follow suit. This is part 1 so it will only cover the episodes on the first disk.

Episode 1: The Fabulous Belding Boys (F):

In this episode Mr. Belding introduces his younger brother who becomes real popular with the kids especially Zack until he wants to bail out on taking them on the class trip and Zack realizes that Richard is the better Belding.

Episode 2: Breaking up is hard to do (F):

In this episode Slater and Jessie want to start dating exclusively but can't agree on their first date. Kelly wants to have dinner with an ex-boyfriend but Zack forbids it. The couples split. When this leads to chaos and Mr. Belding is thrown out of his own home and is spending too much time with the boys, they come up with a scheme to get their girls back called "What I should have said theater".

Episode 3: The Glee Club (F):

In this episode Screech comes to the rescue of his girlfriend when she has to sing a solo for a glee club competition after being chewed out by her parents for being in the same location with the boy when they were the ones not supposed to be back there.

Episode 4: The Last Dance:

Zack and Kelly break up after she falls for her new boss. Oh and the song that Jessie and Slater sing relates to this situation more than I ever thought. I never paid a attention to the song before but the verses they sing is exactly what was going on between Zack and Kelly.

Episode 5: Zack's Birthday Part (F):

This begins a series of episodes that take place during the summer and are about the gang working at a beach club (except Lisa who was a member). In this one Zack's birthday is coming up. The gang throws him a party at the club late at night and it almost gets them fired if the boss' daughter didn't step in and she wouldn't have if Zack had revealed that friendship is more important than looking down on everyone like they're subordinates.

Episode 6: The Aftermath:

This is the conclusion to episode 4. With them showing two episodes a week. This was shown one week after Part 1 so that is why part two doesn't follow part 1 on the disk. In this episode Zack deals with his grief over losing Kelly. His friends and fellow students don't make it easy for him. First they set him up on blind dates (which must means he went to the same movie four time that week) and then he gets slapped when he takes that last of those dates to the Max and dances with her  to his and Kelly's song. When Screech gives him useful advice on what idiots are he shows up at Lisa's party and clears the air with Kelly and her new boyfriend.

Final thoughts:

Now as you have notice two of these episodes are not my favorites. They are not bad but I've seen them too many times to really enjoy them anymore. The truth is whenever I would watch this show (usually on TBS) it would always be at the point in the cycle they were showing the episodes I have not marked as favorite. The ones I have marked as favorite are ones I can watch over and over again many times and still be entertained. These are not two of those episodes. Okay and another beef I have is with a scene in "The Aftermath". They are giving names of girls for Zack to date to cheer him up and they don't show his date with the girl Slater mentions (although the clip is kept in later episode that is a clip show but I will discuss it when I get to it). They completely skip it.

Well this is the end of this review. Part 2 will be coming soon. I don't know exactly when because I am trying to concentrate on watching other DVDs I have to watch. Until next time.

Uncle Ed's Holiday Reports Part 2: Thanksgiving

Well it is time for another report on an important holiday. And Thanksgiving is indeed an important holiday. And it isn't because of Turkey or football but because it is always important to give thanks to God for the blessings he has given us. And do you ask has he blessed you with. Well if you are an American, you have at least one thing to be thankful for and that is being free to believe whatever you want.

Now one thing recently that occurred to me was how remarkable it is that the Indians ate a meal with the Pilgrims and they all gave thanks to God for the blessings. Now with the Indians you have to wonder were they Christians? Well I think they were and it was because of Sequato. He was an Indian that help the Pilgrims make friends with the local tribe. I found out that he was actually once a slave in Europe which is why he was able to learn English and he must have been saved around this time too and he could have led the Indians to Christ. I've always found that part neat.

Bite Me v.7 Chapter 20 Part 10 of 10

Later in her bedroom…[U1] 

            “Dear Diary,” writes Michelle, “Well I’ve completed the dying in every way portion of my transformation to vampire queen. The agents at the vampire-slaying organization believe that even though I’m going to start showing more features of a queen and start having more of a queen like attitude that because I am still part Van Helsing that it will be enough to keep that in check so I won’t become like Victoria. I hope so because I don’t like the idea of innocents dying so my vampires can satisfied their thirst. Well that is all I have to say for now.”

One month later…[U2] 

            “Dear Diary,” writes Michelle, “A lot has happen since my last entry. What has it been, a month now? I don’t know. I guess time goes on forever when you’re the Queen of the Vampires. And this is why I am writing about this past year.  I just had to tell someone about what happen and how it made me feel. And you have always been there for me ready to listen and you never have criticized me for anything and for that I thank you. So where do I begin…?”

            She takes a moment to think about this question.

            “I guess I’ll begin with what happen exactly one year ago today,” she continues to write, “It is a day that changed my life forever and I didn’t even know it yet and honestly it will be months before I will know about it. So what did happen that day? Well I gave blood to the local blood bank. And I did this against the wishes of my parents…err…I mean grandparents and that blood was then used to save the lives of many people including my fellow students. But I will get to that in a bit.  So you want me to start from the beginning huh? Okay, but even you a simple blank page in a book full of entries may not like me when I am done. It actually didn’t start exactly a year ago today. I know I don’t have to actually tell you this but it is to help me keep the facts straight in my head. The date was Monday, April 2, 2012; I was an 7^th grader and not a very popular one. An announcement came on the intercom and a blood drive was announced for that Friday. I hesitated at first but I decided to do it and now as a fully transformed Vampire Queen, I am ready to take out a rival queen who I think was behind me becoming one this whole time. And I’m sure as soon as she is gone they will want to take me out despite their claims but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.

            When she was done writing she realized she only had one page left in the book.

            “Wow,” said Michelle, “I’ve been telling you a lot tonight haven’t I? Well I’m running out of room and interest in writing to you, so this will be my final entry. I know you will understand and someday maybe I will start a new one.”

            She suddenly stops writing and goes into a trance. When she comes to her senses, she starts writing again.

 

            “Well, another vampire has awakened as part of my tribe,” said Michelle, “It probably was one of my teachers at school. I’ve decided to drop out so I can focus solely on being a queen and so I secretly fed one of my favorite teachers my blood so when she died she would become a vampire and then when she arrives tonight in my cave I will commission her to continue my education from there. Well with only two more lines left to write on this page, I have only one thing left to write. Good-bye old friend.”

            She closes the book and lays it on her bed and exits her room for the last time.

Van Helsing Living Room…[U3] 

            “Well mom, dad,” said Michelle, “I’m officially moving in to the cave today. I’m going to start planning ways I can take out Queen Victoria and her clan. Wish me luck and I love you.”

            “I love you too sweetheart,” said David.

            “And I do too,” said Mary.

            Michelle exits the house and heads down to the cave.

Author's Note: Well this is it. The Epic conclusion of the first 20 chapters of my tale. What did you think and what do you think will happen next. I am right now on chapter 30. I probably should be further along than that but certain circumstances wouldn't let me work on it a whole lot.  But Chapter 21 will be up somewhere around Mid-January.

12 hours later…[U1] 

            Michelle begins to wake up.

            “Is it over?” she asks, “Am I fully protected from death now?”

            “Yes,” said Agent #1, “you are and you are now ready to take on Victoria one on one. Hopefully you will beat her and her clan will go with her.”

            “May I go home now?” asked Michelle.

            “Sure,” said Agent #2, “We’ll take you home.”

Moments later at the Van Helsing Mansion…[U2] 

            “Mom, dad,” she yells, “I’m home.”

            “I take it you’ve experience death enough times to strengthen your vampire queen form?” asked David.

            “That’s right,” said Michelle, “as soon as I get an opportunity, I’m going to go and stab Victoria in the heart with a stake and end hers and her clan’s existence forever.”

            “I’m so glad to hear that,” said David.

Five minutes later…[U1] 

            “I’m ready to die again,” said Michelle as she comes from behind the screen.

            “Okay,” said Agent #2, “Please climb up this ladder to this tank here and sit on the platform above the water.”

            “How exactly will this electrocute me?” asked Michelle.

            “There is electric wiring in the tank once it is turned on the water will become dangerous to the human touch and then a button will be pressed and you will fall in and immediately will be electrocuted. Understand?” asked Agent #1.

            “Yes,” said Michelle, “I believe I do.”

            “Good,” said Agent #1.

            Michelle nervously climbs the ladder up to the platform above the tank. Seconds later she was falling into the water with activated electric wires inside killing her instantly. They drained the tank and removed her body and laid it on the same table they had in previous months.

Two nights later; Michelle’s bedroom…[U2] 

            “Dear Diary,” wrote Michelle, “Just recently I experience what it was like to be electrocuted to death. It was not fun. I don’t think dying is fun. But now I’ve died three different ways and the only good thing from this is I can’t die from being shot, stabbed, or electrocuted. Next month I believe they are going to hang me. I doubt that will be a lot of fun. I just wish there was something easier I could do to secure my future instead of dying so many different ways so I can become ‘queen of the vampires’ and kill someone else who is a queen. Well that is all I have to say.”

            She stops writing and puts away her diary. She then heads out to her cave.

  

Wednesday, October 31, 2012…[U3] 

            “Dear Diary,” wrote Michelle, “Pretty soon it will be time for me to die again. This time by being hung. But that is not why I’m writing. It is Halloween and since I’m still a kid. I think people are forgetting that part for some reason, I’m going trick or treating tonight. And I have the perfect costume to wear. I’m going as a Vampire Queen. Well to explain that, my clan wants to have a Halloween Party where we invite people come into the cave for some old fashion scary fun. Well they are also concern about me I think and since I’m dying once a month they want to make sure I remain queen by increasing my numbers. So they plan on serving my blood mixed with the fruit punch making it definite than if the guests were to die they would become vampires and members of my clan. I like that idea. I don’t know why but I do. Also, I haven’t been hunting and slaying vampires here lately. That’s another thing I don’t know why about. I enjoy slaying vampires as in I really enjoy it but I’m kind of one myself. Only I’m still alive and still human so I’m not an undead vampire but I’m what they call a day-walker. It doesn’t matter. I am what I am and I’ve accepted that. Well I guess I better get down to the cave and enjoy the Halloween party.

Two months later; the day before Christmas…[U4] 

            “Dear Diary,” writes Michelle, “Well it’s happened again since my last entry. Well twice actually. Okay, Let me go down the list: Shot- check; Stabbed-check; electrocuted-check; hanged- check and finally Drowned checked. That last one was the easiest to do actually. Well I think I only have three or four months of this to go before I’m ready start fighting Queen Victoria and beat her. I wonder if she’s aware what they are planning this time. Well that’s it. Oh and a Merry Christmas.”

March 2013; American Vampire-Slayers of America Headquarters…[U5] 

            “Well you only have two more ways left to die,” said Agent #1, “are you ready?”

            “Yeah,” said Michelle, “I am ready.”

            “Are you sure?” asked Agent #2, “This is going to be one of the meanest forms of killing you we will perform.”

            “What exactly are you going to do?” asked Michelle.

            “See that window over there,” said Agent #1.

            “Yeah?” asked Michelle, “what about it?”

            “We’re going to throw you out of it,” said Agent #2.

            “But my bones will break when I land on the ground,” said Michelle.

            “Yes, and the impact will be what kills you,” said Agent #1, “but on the bright side when you wake up in 12 hours you will never have to worry about broken bones again.”

            “Okay,” said Michelle, “if you say so.”

            They lead her to the window and instruct her to sit on the window sill with her legs hanging over on the outside.

            “Are you ready?” asked Agent #2.

            “Yes, I am,” said Michelle.

            “Well then,” said Agent #1, “push her off.”

            Agent #2 gives Michelle such a big push that Michelle falls off and 2 stories toward the ground and her death. She screams along the way. They run outside and find her body lying on the ground motionless. They pick her up and take her inside. They lay her on the table and wait 12 hours for her to wake up.

6:00 that same morning; Vampire-slaying headquarters…[U1] 

            Michelle begins to awake again and looks around the room she’s in and wonders where she is. Waiting for her to wake up are the two agents that killed her.

            “What happen?” asked Michelle whose memory of the previous afternoon is very foggy.

            “You were shot last night,” said Agent #2.

           

            “Did I die?” asked Michelle.

            “Yeah,” said Agent #1.

            “Am I still dead?” asked Michelle.

            “No,” said Agent #2, “you are still alive. The guard who was watching you this morning checked your vitals and they were good. You are not a vampire just their queen.”

            “Good,” said Michelle, “Are you going to keep me here and kill me another way tonight or am I free to go home or something?”

            “You are free to go home,” said Agent #1, “we’ll escort you there ourselves.”

            “Thank-you,” said Michelle.

            “Oh but we will be killing you again real soon so watch for us,” said Agent #2.

            “And how will I die next time?” asked Michelle.

            “Let’s just let that be a surprise,” said Agent #1.

            “Okay,” said Michelle.

            They escort her out of the lab and the building and into the same car they brought her to their headquarters in and dropped her off at her home.

An Atlantisian Palace Bedroom; the following full moon night…[U2] 

            The Atlantisian couple who wanted to have Atlantis’ first vampire queen are preparing for their first opportunity to have the child.

A couple days later at the Vampire-slaying Headquarters…[U3] 

            “Well Michelle are you ready to die again?” asked Agent #1.

            “Yes, I am,” said Michelle.

            “Very well,” said Agent #2 who takes a knife and lunges it into Michelle’s chest causing her to drop to the ground dead.

            “Well that’s two ways to die down and seven more to go,” said Agent #1.

            “Are you sure this is a good idea?” asked Agent #2, “Killing her all of these ways I mean?”

            “Yeah it is,” said Agent #1, “It will make her stronger for one and two if other vampire slayers get wind that she is invulnerable to death they will immediately start weakening her by taking out her clan and when they are all gone then she will suddenly be dead. And we won’t even have to do a thing to her.”

            “Okay,” said Agent #2.

One month later…[U4] 

            “Are you ready to die again young Michelle?” asked Agent #1.

            “Yeah, I guess,” said a less than enthusiastic Michelle, “which way will it be this time?”

            “We thought we electrocute you this time,” said Agent #2.

            “Okay,” said Michelle, “I’m ready when you are. What would you like me to do?”

            “Did you wear your swimsuit underneath your school clothes like we asked you to the last time you were here?” asked Agent #2

            “Yes, I did,” said Michelle, “you’re lucky. Swim class was today, too and I bought a spare suit from home for this.”

            “Okay,” said Agent #1, “Step behind the screen and take off your clothes except for the suit and come out when you are ready.”
